It’s not breaking news to say Costco can be a life-saver. I mean, where else can you buy car tires, a new TV, and a 50-pound bag of sugar all at the same place where you get a hot dog and a soda for $1.50? What a great time to be alive!!

That said, a trip can be horribly overwhelming if you go in without a plan. Also, you might leave wondering, “Was that really a deal?” Here is a list of what we buy at Costco.

When people think of The Real Good Life, they think of fresh, delicious, made-from-scratch meals delivered right to their door. They think of the relief that they don’t have to cook dinner and the excitement of the change of pace from their dinner stand-bys. While this is exactly what we think too, there’s more to us.

Our word of the year is COMMUNITY, and we are living that in full force.

When I was invited to sit on a panel for Women’s Entrepreneur Week, I was asked to sum up my business advice into a few words. I thought this was impossible. I mean, have you met/read me?! But one of my favorite food pontificators, Michael Pollan, came to mind and inspired:

Hey guys! I am t-minus days away from vacation and dude, am I ready to check out. This impending trip set me straight to our inspiration for May – Vacation is a state of mind.

Let’s be honest – this week with my toddlers 24/7 will be the furthest thing from relaxing, so I’m setting other vacation goals. Instead, I’m looking forward to getting away from work, laundry, and the daily routine to give me a fresh outlook on life. Sometimes all it takes is pressing pause on the daily grind to give you the strength to jump back in.

Whew! Last week was A WEEK, wasn’t it?

Between power losses, Floridian heat and humidity, and lack of leftover Real Good Bars, last week was not our favorite. Here at the TRGL Kitchen, we were among those who lost power on Tuesday evening and it was only thanks to the generosity of our neighbors Vennture Brew Co. who opened up the doors of their cooler to us, that we were able to still fulfill our Wednesday deliveries.

From day one this business has celebrated “the real life, the good life, and the real good life.” We have never shied away from the fact that even the best life has its faults. It simply can’t be perfect all the time. (Nor can it be the worst 100% of the time. There is always something to salute.)

On September 13th of this year, we will celebrate our 5th anniversary as a company. It’s hard to believe while also truly humbling and incredible, especially when viewed in light of THE YEAR the entire planet has experienced! As we enter into our fifth year, we have zeroed in on the importance of community. To us, it’s not just a concept, but the actual lifeblood of everything we do.

For us, part of enjoying the real good life includes discovering the gems not just in our neighborhoods, but the ones that surround us. As we drive around delivering food to our neighbors and friends, we often pass stops that catch our eye. We’re going to share some of our foodie faves from cities, neighborhoods, and blocks all around our delivery area in 2022 and we hope you see something that piques your interest enough to go check it out!

Each stage of motherhood is great and hard and wonderful and demoralizing. It is all of the things, but it happens so fast it’s hard to register you’ve moved on to the next stage until you’re in the thick of something new.
