We can all agree that summers in Milwaukee are way too short, right? We’d also agree there are way too many places to go to really enjoy them. We’ve picked our favorite FREE events to soak in a summer night all around the Milwaukee area. Pick one, pack a picnic (let us help!), and prepare for a perfect night under the stars.
Brookfield – Starry Nights at the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center or Food Truck Fest
You have one more chance to enjoy the high-end experience of a night of music at the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center this Friday, August 12th where you can experience the sounds of Irish Fest in your own backyard.
If you’re looking for something with a bit more “come and go as you please” vibe, check out the Corners of Brookfield’s Food Truck Fest happening August 17th and September 21st. In addition to tasty eats, there will be music and face painting.
Tosa Area – Tosa Tonight or Washington Park Wednesday
Back here in our neck of the woods, we love the Tosa Tonight concert series on Wednesday nights all summer long. Bring your tailgate chairs and snacks, then pop by The Ruby Tap’s booth for tasty canned wine. (Seriously, it’s a thing!)
And speaking of breathtaking bandshells, you have got to do Washington Park Wednesdays at least once this summer! This series isn’t just music, but it’s got that in spades, too. Check it out and you’ll feel Milwaukee history from deep in the soil! (Oh, and the ice cream cart from Everyone’s Ice Cream is pretty great, too.)
Glendale – Bayshore Family Flicks
For our north shore friends with the littles, we suggest the Wednesday night family flick movie series at the Yard at Bayshore. The movies, geared for kiddos, start right at 5, giving you plenty of time to get the movie in before bedtime. Pro tip – pop a salad or two into your Wednesday night meal delivery and you won’t have to race around to get dinner figured out before the movie starts.
So that’s what we love. Would love to hear your favorite places too!
