One of the best parts of my job is to introduce y’all to food-related small business owners. Our 2021 experiment of monthly Local Flavor meals has been a hit and our on-going Extras menu continue to be extraordinary. With that said, I am so excited to introduce you to three new products perfect for taking care of yourself as the weather starts to fight back. These new goodies are available to order starting on our November 3rd delivery!
Aureal Ojeda might be my favorite new person I’ve met in 2021. Once you learn her story behind Outwoken Tea, she’ll be yours, too. Aureal saw a problem (or actually a bunch of problems) and figured out a way to solve them AND provide the community with delicious and healthy teas perfect to close out a long day. We’ll have two flavors on our menu, Bold Blue and Rooibos. Invite your kids in on the Bold Blue and add a squeeze of lemon to watch the colors change. (And then tell them to scram. This is Mama Time!)
Chalkboard Kitchen Granola
Late this summer I was reintroduced to Therese at Chalkboard Kitchen. We first met when we were both working out of a church kitchen to produce our wares. Now, in addition to the delicious granolas we’ll give you on our menu, Therese and her team turn out scrumptious scones and other baked goods at markets around town. You seriously won’t go wrong if you order anything off her menu.
Back here, you can pick from her three flavors of granola: Door County Cherry, Cranberry Almond, and Blueberry Chai. All the granolas are dairy-free and vegan. Personally, I love an afternoon pick me up snack of plain Greek yogurt topped with the Door County Cherry granola (and a few dark chocolate chips if I’m being honest), but can’t wait to try them all.
Twi Mocha Latte and Hot Chocolate Pods
Last winter we were introduced to Dr. Kwadwo Owusu-Ofori’s Twi (pronounced “ch-wee”) mocha latte pods and hot dog, they are GOOD! Kwad created a non-dairy, gluten-free, and low-sugar coffee drink that revved our engines through ALL the cold mornings in the kitchen. Needless to say when I found out he also has created a Ghanaian hot chocolate pod perfect for a Keurig (and then the recycle bin, don’t toss in the garbage!), I bought four cases for myself.
Anyway, as the weather gets colder, you’re definitely going to want these little treats within arm’s distance. They are NOW AVAILABLE to order for delivery starting on November 3rd!
