Happy Valentine’s Day, my loves! If you need a fun, quick treat to celebrate the day (and by day, I mean any day, not just today’s holiday…), check out this recipe for homemade magic shell chocolate ice cream topping.
Chocolate Almond Magic Shell
- 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil over medium-low heat on the stovetop, stirring often, or in a microwavable bowl in the well, microwave, heating at 30-second intervals.
- Stir in the almond extract. Allow to cool slightly before putting on your ice cream. You can store the extra sauce in a microwave-safe container. When it's time to use again, reheat the whole container, again in 30-second increments. You can do this three or four times before it loses its luster.
I like the sauce over ice cream or strawberries, but I’m sure you could get creative with other fruit or even baked goods. That little hint of almond makes anything taste amazing!! Let me know what deliciousness you come up with by tagging us on Instagram.
