Clean Eating Hot Chocolate

Clean Eating Hot Chocolate

Let’s give three cheers to Lisa of 100 Days of Real Food for the following hot chocolate recipe that has no cootie-filled ingredients but takes less time than the powdered stuff. Yummy flavor and semi-healthy, woo! (While this recipe is technically granulated sugar-free, it does include maple syrup, so let’s not kid ourselves… A cup a day is plenty, friends…)

Clean Hot Chocolate for One

If you're looking to cut refined sugars but still want something warm and chocolate-y, this is your drink.
Course Drinks
Servings 1

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder
  • 1 cup milk*

Instructions

  • Stir (and stir and stir and stir!) the maple syrup and cocoa powder until the two ingredients form liquid-y goodness.
  • Heat your milk and then add the chocolate sauce. Enjoy!

Notes

* I use regular 1% cow’s milk, but almond milk or water might work ok. Most recipes call for 3/4 cup, but I go all the way to one cup. Gotta fill the mug!
