“Fill Their Plate” Food Drive for the Hunger Task Force

We all know it is easy to eat cheap. Go to McDonald’s and a burger, fries, and milkshake is a steal of a meal that can be in your hands and belly in just minutes. But to eat something nutritious and delicious takes time to make and more money to buy. This is true for those of us that don’t have to worry about where the next meal comes from, so you can imagine how easy it is to fall back on sugary cereal, boxed mac and cheese, and orange “drink” if money is tight. (P.S. Why is the “drink” always in quotes? I mean, we all know it’s not juice, but it technically a liquid, making it a drink, no?)

To help with this dilemma and to say “thank you” to all life has given us this holiday season, we are doing a “Fill Their Plate” drive benefiting the Hunger Task Force for the next two deliveries. This worthwhile organization is focusing on the “MyPlate” model with a focus on healthy food. In particular, I’d love to give them peaches in 100% juice, low sodium green beans, peanut butter, brown rice, and 1% boxed milk. These are specific foods selected to accommodate the need in their network and are based on the biggest shortfall of items they usually have donated.

For every food or cash donation y’all leave at your delivery site on November 29th or December 6th, The Real Good Life will double it.

Simply leave your donation in your cooler or other designated areas.

If you aren’t able to participate with me, you can always donate directly to the Hunger Task Force here.

(As a reminder, 2% of ALL sales all year long benefit this worthy organization.) I hope you’ll consider participating.

Thank you in advance for your donation. Today I am grateful for you!
